  • Yearbook sales have ended for the year.  However, a limited number of extra yearbooks have been ordered.  To reserve one of these extras, bring $70 cash or check to Mr. Peters in the media center before they run out.  Yearbook distribution will take place on June 1.
  • Seniors, all books should be returned to the media center by Friday, May 25.  Seniors must return all books and pay all fines prior to receiving your caps and gowns.
  • Do you want to display how much school spirit you have? Do you want to be a leader within the school’s extra-curricular activities program? The Activities department is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 Superfans club! Please stop by the activities office and pick up an application. See Mr. Wooten for more details. The deadline to apply will be May 25 so ACT NOW! All grade levels are welcome to apply.
  • Our annual Pennies For Patients drive is this week. Be sure to bring in money to your English class. As always, this is a competition between the grades. Pennies are each worth one point. Silver coins and paper money are worth their cent value in negative points. For example, a nickel is negative five points. Use silver coins and paper money to sabotage other grades. The Grade with the most points will win eternal glory. Last Year’s winner was the Class of 2020. Also, be sure to buy $2 Gourmet Waffles all next week during lunch.
  • Today is our annual Outdoor Spring Dance – it is a Tropical theme.  Cost is $5 at the door at the Royal Stadium.  We will also have smores and other items for sale.  Black Student Union will be selling BBQ foods as well.  There will be yard games and student DJ Parker Theis.  Also a special African dance performance later in the evening.  Proceeds from the cost to get in will be donated to a local Veterans program.  Come join us for the last dance of the school year!!
  • The WHS Choir want YOU!  Auditions for next year’s choirs are May 29-June 5 before and after school.  Sign up outside the choir room.  See Mr. Timmer if you have any questions.
