Counseling

ATTENTION SENIORS – This is a reminder that the Counseling Office will be closed over winter break.  If you are planning to apply to colleges and/or scholarships with a January 1, 2018 deadline, please note that the Counseling Office will be closed, and transcripts will not be sent over the winter break.

For college and scholarship deadlines that are during the winter break:

1.    The blue transcript request form must be turned in to the Counseling Office no later than December 15, 2017.

2.    If your application requires a recommendation from your teacher or counselor, you must request the recommendation no later than December 14, 2017.

If you have any questions please stop by the Counseling Office and ask.  We are happy to help!

All School Information

Tonight Woodbury High School will be hosting a HBCU Information Fair.  HBCUs are Historically Black colleges and Universities that enroll students of all ethnicities.  HBCU Night is tonight at 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall and cafeteria.  There will be alumni representatives from 15 Universities.

Announcement: If you are interested in participating in the National Poetry Out Loud competition, please come to Mr. Nunn’s room, room 263, after school on Thursday, December 14 at 3:15. Students must prepare to recite 3 poems. One poem must be 25 lines or fewer, and one poem must be written before the 20th century. Students will be judged according to 2017-2018 Poetry Out Loud evaluation criteria. The competition starts at the level of our school. Winners will be selected to advance to the State Level Competition and possibly the National Competition from there.

"Want some homework help or just looking for a place to study during ROAR time? Then come to Ms. Nicholas' room, Room 262, or Mr. Welsch's room, Room 270, where NHS tutors will be ready to help with math, science, and the humanities!"

Toys for Tots collection. This year things suitable for babies and teenagers are encouraged. Drop off boxes are in the cafeteria in the mornings, and WHS will be on Kare 11 Wednesday with our collection.

"Hey! Do you want to give your friend a nice gift for the holidays but are broke? Come buy an NHS holiday gram for $2! We are selling them this week Monday through Friday in all lunches. The holiday grams include hot chocolate and kettle corn. Cost is $2. You need to write down on one of our slips of paper your name, the persons name who it's for, and their first hour teacher. We will deliver them on Tuesday the 19th in first hours."

We will have a guest speaker that you do not want to miss! Wednesday, December 13th during all of 4th hour. Networking will start at 12:15.

The Ten Days of Giving Campaign ends today. Make sure to drop off your donated items in 2nd hour or during lunch.

Activities & Athletic Highlights

  • The following student-athletes have attained "Royal Elite" status based on their positive attitude, commitment, and 100% dedication in following the Royal Sports Performance Program for the month of November. They are David Hawley and Anna O’Connor. Each student-athlete will receive Nike sports performance gear for their efforts.  Congratulations!
