About the School
Woodbury High School is a four-year public high school. Our schedule has three trimesters per year, six class periods per day, and 55-minute classes.
About the Community
Woodbury High School is a four-year public high school that is part of the South Washington County School District, ISD #833. The district includes the communities of Cottage Grove, St. Paul Park, Newport, Woodbury, Grey Cloud Island and Afton. There are three high schools, one Alternative high school, four middle schools and 16 elementary schools.

Grading & Ranking Procedures
- GPA is based on marks earned in grades 9-12. All courses in which the student receives a letter grade of A through F are calculated in the GPA.
- Pass/Fail grades are not calculated in the GPA but do count towards graduation credit. A maximum of one credit per year may be taken under the pass/fail grade option.
- AP courses receive additional weighting in GPA calculations. Students who successfully complete an AP or IB course and take the AP or IB exam at the end of the course receive an additional 1.2 in GPA calculations, i.e. A = 4.8)
- District 833 high schools do not calculate class rank for their students. Information indicating a class rank will not be issued internally or externally to staff, students, parents, other academic institutions or agencies.

Woodbury High School Highlights
- September 8, 2014 Newsweek Magazine ranks Woodbury High School ranks 45th out of the top 500 high schools in the U.S. Read the article on WCCO (CBS local affiliate) or District website. WHS earned this ranking with a college readiness score of 97%, 79.4% of students going to college, and a graduation rate of 94.4%. Woodbury ranked second of the nine Minnesota high schools that made the list.
- July 10, 2014: St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that the Minnesota Department of Education reported Woodbury High School as number 17 in the state for students attending college.
- 2014 U.S. News & World ReportBest High Schools Rankings lists Woodbury High School as the 9th best high school in Minnesota (out of 544 public high schools) and 611 in the Country (out of 19,411 evaluated)!
City of Woodbury Highlights
- Woodbury is the largest city in Washington County, Minnesota and is a suburb of the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul) metropolitan area.
