Extra-curricular Band Ensembles

Woodbury High School offers a rich band program, including three curricular bands, and five extra-curricular ensembles. The band program is supported by an active booster organization.

Jazz Ensemble

Jazz Ensemble is a group of extremely talented individuals dedicated to the performance of jazz music.

Marching Band with Colorguard

We are dedicated musicians who perform for local community parades in the summer and at home football games in the fall.

Pep Band

Pep Band is comprised of all students enrolled in band class grades 9-12. The band performs for select home athletic events during the fall and winter sport seasons. The Pep Band also follows teams to section and state tournament games!

Percussion Ensemble

Percussion ensemble is a medium for students to perform through the use of standard and non-standard concert percussion instruments. Students have the opportunity to collaborate with several groups such as the University of Minnesota Percussion Ensemble, Park High School, and other guest percussionists.

Winter Drumline

We offer Varsity and JV Drumline (determined by audition). The purpose of the Winter drumline program is to enhance the marching percussion abilities of students and to provide quality entertainment at Winter sporting events as well as pep fests.

Many of these extracurricular activities are associated with curricular work in Music (Band or Choir) or English (Theatre). They may also qualifiy as MSHSL (Minnesota State High School League) activities for competition purposes.
