As a service to our community, this space is for SoWashCo Community Education and non-profit groups to share special events, programs and activities.

SoWashCo Community Education Activities Flyers 

SoWashCo Community Education offers quality education, enrichment and athletic opportunities for all ages. These programs provide participants with opportunities to pursue their interests, expand their abilities and improve social skills in a fun and safe environment. To see our full list of offerings visit sowashco.ce.eleyo.com.

SoWashCo Community Education partners may send flyer distribution requests to flyers@sowashco.org. Requests must be for a current or upcoming SoWashCo Community Education activity or class. Please include the link to the class in Eleyo and a PDF flyer.

Community Organization Flyers

Groups/organizations that meet the eligibility criteria below must send a link to a webpage or PDF flyer about the event or program, a short description of the event or program, the organization name and the event organizer's contact information to flyers@sowashco.org.

Dodge Nature Center Fall Break Camps

Fall Break Camps are full of energy and seasonal color! Get off screens and on trails for a day of learning and fun.

Details:

  • Ages: Grade K-8 (Kids will form smaller groups based on grade levels)
  • Date: Oct. 17 and 18 (single-day camps)
  • Time: 8:15 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Location:
    Dodge Nature Center Main Property in West St. Paul or Shepard Fam in Cottage Grove
  • Fee: $65, scholarships are available

In honor of International Day of the Girl, all new youth join for FREE from Oct. 7-11.

South Washington County Pit Stop, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Make a Pit Stop for Free Community Resources

Stop by from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2024 at the Cottage Grove Armory (8180 Belden Blvd. in Cottage Grove) to get free community resources for those in need. 

Resources that will be offered include:

  • Warm Meals
  • Haircuts
  • Food and Gas Cards
  • Personal Care Items
  • Clothing and Baby Items
  • Meal Kits
  • School Supplies
  • Washington County Resources and Services

Pee Wee Sports City of Woodbury Parks and Recreation

Participants will learn the basic skills through fun drills and games. Pee Wee sports promotes sportsmanship, physical activity and peer interaction in a team atmosphere.

  • Age group: 3-6 years old
  • Price: Resident $55; Non-resident $70
  • Time: 6:15-7 p.m. or 7:05-7:50 p.m.
  • Place: Middleton Elementary School

Join Cub Scouts
  • All boys and girls in grades K-5 are invited to join Cub Scouts
  • Adventure field trips, camping, family outings, games with friends, outdoor fun and year-round excitement!
  • Annual registration fee is $205
  • Scholarships are available
  • Every registered scout receives a FREE t-shirt (must be registered with a Northern Star Scouting Cub Scout Pack by Oct. 31 to be guaranteed a t-shirt).

MiTY Fall Saturday morning program

The Minnesota Institute for Talented Youth (MITY) is offering Saturday morning enrichment classes for students in grades 1-4.

  • Classes are from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Nov. 2, 9, and 16 at Twin Cities German Immersion School in St. Paul
  • Students select two courses in each 3-week session that feature inquiry-based, hands-on learning.
  • Class size is capped at 15 students to ensure individualized attention and to support friendships.
  • Families are invited to attend free speakers while their children are in class on topics such as executive functioning, anxiety, and twice-exceptionality.
  • Need-based financial assistance is available.

Animal Humane Society (AHS) camps and educational programs for kids and families. AHS's camps and programs are designed to help children explore their interests, interact with animals, and nurture their compassion for all living things.
